traffic alert fatal crash accident

MONTEZUMA, Ohio (AP) - A 16-year-old boy driving a minivan is among four people who died after he struck a sedan head-on in western Ohio. The sheriff's office says it's not clear why the van veered left of center Saturday night on U.S. Route 127 in Mercer County, about 50 miles north of Dayton. The van hit a car carrying two couples.

The crash killed 76-year-old driver Henry Fortkamp and 72-year-old Arlene Fortkamp of Fort Recovery, along with 75-year-old Rosamary Homan of Burkettsville. Her husband, 77-year-old Donald Homan, was hospitalized. The teen, Zachary Elliott of Versailles, was flown to a hospital and later died. He was alone in the van. WHIO-TV in Dayton reports Sheriff Jeff Grey said alcohol is not suspected as a factor in the crash. He called it a "tragic accident."
