DETROIT (AP) -- A member of a Michigan militia has asked a judge to allow him to leave prison after others in the group were acquitted earlier this week of plotting war against the government.

The Detroit News reports that an attorney for Joshua Clough filed an emergency motion Friday in federal court in Detroit.

Clough of Blissfield pleaded guilty to a weapons charge in December. He has been jailed for two years.

Seven members of the Hutaree militia were acquitted Tuesday of conspiracy charges in a domestic terror trial. The group's leader, David Stone Sr. and his adult son, Joshua, were released Thursday on bond after pleading guilty to weapons charges.

U.S. District Judge Victoria Roberts said the Hutaree members' expressed hatred of law enforcement didn't amount to a conspiracy.
