After Fox News host Geraldo Rivera's controversial statement about hoodies being responsible for Trayvon Martin's killing, supporters of the Florida teen have used the clothing item to protest the stereotype.

The Miami Heat basketball team recently posed with hoods up for a team picture, and now the Obama campaign has even released a line of election 2012 hoodies.

But the National Rifle Association opened a whole new can of worms with its "Concealed Carry Hooded Sweatshirt," a hoodie with pockets designed to store a weapon.

"Ideal for carrying your favorite compact to mid-size pistol, the NRA Concealed Carry Hooded Sweatshirt gives you an extra tactical edge, because its unstructured, casual design appears incapable of concealing a heavy firearm – but it does so with ease." the product description reads.

While it's unclear when exactly the product was released, a red seal reading "new" appeared recently on the website. The product's newfound popularity sits funny with many Trayvon supporters because the teen was shot by a neighborhood watchman with a concealed carry license.

"Politically tone-deaf? Sure. But actually, this could be the perfect solution. If everyone who wore a hoodie were also packing heat, we wouldn't have to get into any debates over racial profiling. No need to guess which stranger is a threat." an editorial in the Star-Ledger read.
