PERKINS TWP. -- The parents of two former Perkins School students are suing the district because they say leaders did nothing to stop years of bullying.

Dr. Patrick and Linda Waters filed a federal lawsuit Tuesday.  They've named the school board, the superintendent, middle school principal and former elementary school prinicpal as defendants.

The Waters say the bullying began when their oldest son was 12 years old and attended Briar Middle School and their youngest son was 8 and went to Meadowlawn Elementary School.

The parents say their sons were physically and verbally bullied by classmates.  The lawsuit says the parents complained to the district several times but nothing ever changed.

The boys are now attending a private school.  Perkins Schools is not commenting.
