Man charged with fondling child declared competent for trial

The Toledo man charged with fondling a 9-year-old girl at the Sylvania library in October was found competent to stand trial on Monday.

Jason Jeffries, 23, will appear in Lucas County Common Pleas Court on Wednesday for a pretrial hearing. His trial is set for March 19.

Based on evidence from his Court Diagnostic and Treatment Center report, Judge Linda Jennings found him competent to stand trial.
