DETROIT -- Jury selection is underway in the trial of seven people accused of being part of a Lenawee County militia who wanted to overthrow the government.
The accused members of the group called Hutaree are charged with conspiring to kill a police officer, then attacking the officer's funeral to wage a war on the government. No one was ever attacked.
The defendants' attorneys say their clients are being prosecuted for saying stupid things.
A federal judge in Detroit is asking potential jurors what they think about confidential informants. The trial is expected to last weeks.
