FREMONT -- Westbound lanes on the Ohio Turnpike near State Route 53 have been shut down following a traffic collision between a semi and a road maintenance vehicle.

Motorists are currently being forced to exit at the Fremont-Port Clinton Interchange (Exit 91) connecting to S.R. 53.  Detour maps are available at the toll booth.

An Ohio State Highway Patrol post confirmed one fatality and multiple injuries during the crash. Emergency personnel are still at the scene helping motorists.

Additional information concerning traffic delays will be posted on the Turnpike website at www.ohioturnpike.org
