SYLVANIA -- WNWO has an update on that high school basketball referee who had his handgun stolen during a game at Sylvania Southview.

The high school's principal says 45-year-old Darrel Phillips will not be on the court at any future games at Southview.

Principal Dave McMurray says he did not go as far as to call for Phillips to be fired.

As you may recall Phillips' gun was taken from the locker room during a girls basketball game last week.  Phillips has a concealed carry permit but it's illegal to take a gun on school grounds.

:ucas County authorities are weighing possible charges against Phillips.
