TOLEDO, OHIO -- Kattie Bond, director of the city of Toledo department of neighborhoods, has been terminated, according to Mayor Bell's spokesman, Jen Sorgenfrei.

Bond was placed on administrative leave on December 9 along with the city's commission of housing, Mike Badik,  while the Bell administration investigated charges of bid fixing and other irregularities in the bidding process for receiving, opening, and reviewing bids for housing redevelopment in the city.

Since the projects involved funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, Rep. Marcy Kaptur has asked HUD's Inspector General to assist in the investigation.

Ms. Sorgenfrei would not elaborate on Ms. Bond's dismissal other than to say it was under investigation.
