Perrysburg police chase ends in crash

PERRYSBURG, OHIO -- A police chase through the streets of Perrysburg ended abruptly when the suspects' vehicle collided with a Perrysburg police SUV.

Perrysburg police officials say that at approximately 8:45 AM Thursday, a Perrysburg police officer attempted to stop a pickup truck that ran a red light at Three Meadows Dr. and U.S. 20. The truck failed to stop and fled on West South Boundary St. The pickup truck crashed into a police vehicle at West South Boundary at Westbrook Dr.

Police learned that the Ford Ranger pick up truck was stolen from 402 Brentwood, Oxford, Mich.

The two suspects in the fleeing vehicle, Tyler Emiry, 18, of Waterford, Mich. and John el-Chair, 19, of Clarkston, Mich. were inured in the crash. They were transported to Toledo Hospital for treatment.

When the suspects are released from medical care, they will be booked into the Wood County Justice Center. They are facing charges of felony fleeing and eluding, receiving stolen property, reckless operation, and failing to stop for a traffic signal.
