Fatal crash in Defiance Co.

NEY -- An elderly Defiance County man is dead after a two vehicle crash near Ney.

The state patrol says 80-year-old Russell Grimes was southbound on State Route 15 when his minivan veered into the opposite lane and hit a car driven by 19-year-old Ethan Wonderly.

Grimes died at the scene. Wonderly is in critical condition at a hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Grimes was not wearing a seat belt. Wonderly was.
