TIFFIN -- The Ohio Supreme Court has denied a request to stop the demolition of the Seneca County Courthouse.

In a six to one decision on Wednesday, the justices denied the request of a group of taxpayers to halt the destruction of the courthouse, which began this week.

On Monday, 44 Seneca County residents filed a lawsuit with the Ohio Supreme Court with the claims that Seneca County Commissioners have a legal duty to provide a courthouse that complies with federal access requirements.

Justices did not give a reason for the denial.
