DETROIT -- A suburban Detroit dad has pleaded guilty to child abuse charges after he had his 9-year-old daughter drive his van because he was drunk.

39-year-old Shawn Weimer was arrested in October when police pulled over his vehicle and discovered the little driving.

The girl testified her dad drank a half bottle of whiskey the night he was arrested.

He will be sentenced February 23.
