TOLEDO -- Authorities found a 9-year-old boy dead on the railroad tracks near Castle Street around 12:39 a.m. Monday, just minutes after his mother, Danita Roddy, called to report him missing.

Toledo police report Devaunte Roddy-O'Neil was last seen by family members in the neighborhood around Maplewood and Castle in the early afternoon hours on Sunday.

According to Norfolk Southern Railroad, there were 124 railcars parked on that set of tracks since Dec. 13. The railcars were moved on Dec. 18 at 1:35 p.m. and transported to Elkhart, Ind.

The death appears to be accidental at this time.
