TOLEDO -- For the first time in decades, some Toledo Jeep workers will not get a break this holiday.  But that's not a bad thing for the workers and the local economy.

Chrysler is keeping the Toledo North Assembly Plant open the Tuesday thru Friday between Christmas and New Year's Eve to keep up with the high demand for Jeep Wranglers and Jeep Liberties.

Usually the plants are shut down during that time but now there will be one ten hour shift running.

Last month the redesigned Wrangler sold 9225 units, up 41% from last year and the Liberty saw sales leap 53% to 5201 units.

The plant employs about 17,000  people.

Chrysler's other local plant, the machining factory in Perrysburg will be closed as usual for the holiday break.
