Time's managing editor appeared on the Today Show Wednesday to reveal the magazine's choice for Person of the Year:
The Protester.
"There was a lot of consensus among our people," MSNBC.com quoted Rick Stengel as saying. "It felt right."
For 84 years, the weekly newsmagazine's editors have chosen the person, group or thing that they deem to have made the greatest impact that year.
"The Protester" represents the several movements bringing down dictators in the Middle East, the U.S.-created Occupy movement, and others that took place in 2011.
Who/what group do you think should have been named Person of the Year for 2011? Sound off below and on our WNWO Facebook page.
