LAREDO, TX -- A 12-year-old Texas girl posted a chilling prediction on her Facebook page just hours before she was shot and killed by her mother.

Ramie Grimmer's mother Rachelle, took her and her brother hostage along with workers at a state office in Laredo, Texas on Monday.  Her mother got upset when the welfare office denied her request for food stamp assistance.

Police say after Rachelle Grimmer was taken into a private office around 5pm on Monday to discuss her case, she pulled out a gun, taking that supervisor and her kids hostage. After a couple hours Grimmer let the state worker go unharmed but stayed in the office with her two kids.

At about 7:50pm that night, Ramie changed her status on the employer section of her Facebook account to "May die 2day."  Later at 10:34pm she posted that she was bored and then about 15 minutes after that a post that just said "ahhhhhhhhhh".

Her final post came at 11:28pm.   She said "tear gas seriasly" which is believed to be a reference to Laredo SWAT team members that had surrounded the office.

About 15 minutes after that post, three gunshots were heard in the office.  When officers got inside they found Rachelle Grimmer dead and her two children Ramie and Timothy critically injured from gunshot wounds.

Ramie died Wednesday night.  Timothy remains in critical condition at the hospital.

Their grandmother told the Associated Press her former daughter-in-law had a history of mental problems.

Mary Lee Shepherd of Montana said Wednesday that Texas officials should have given Grimmer the food stamps and then removed her grandchildren from Grimmer's custody.

Shepherd says she and her son Dale Grimmer, the children's father, had contacted social workers at least three times. She says they worried Grimmer could harm the children.

Rachelle Grimmer and her children moved to Texas from Ohio this summer.
