Honda Motor Co. is recalling more than 304,000 vehicles globally for air-bags that inflate with too much pressure in a crash, resulting in possible injuries or deaths. The recall is for some 2001 through 2003 Honda and Acura Vehicles.

The recall was originally announced last year, but is now reissuing the recall after the company realized some recalled airbags accidently ended up at repair shops.

Honda said there have been 20 accidents so far related to this problem, including two deaths in the U.S. in 2009.

The Japanese automaker announced the recall Friday, which affects the Accord, Civic, Odyssey, Pilot, CR-V and other models. The recall spans 273,000 vehicles in the U.S., 27,000 in Canada, nearly 2,000 in Japan and another 2,000 elsewhere.

Honda will mail letters to people whose cars are covered under the recall later this month.
