TOLEDO -- The holiday season is starting off on a sour note for one Toledo church.
On November 11th, the All Saints Lutheran Church on Heatherdowns Boulevard realized a real life Grinch had broken into their two storage sheds.
"We investigated and we found basically all the electrical gear that we use for our drive-thru living Nativity, each year ,was stolen," said Pastor Richard Rentner.
Some props were also damaged in the burglary of the church's two storage sheds.
Rentner says, while they hope the items will be returned they still plan to hold their annual Nativity this year on December 17th and 18th.
According to a press release issued by the church, the budget for the Nativity "only includes money to pay for yearly expenses such as renting animals and police assistance for traffic control".
Now, they are asking for the community's help with donations to replace the stolen items.
The church says any additional donations will be passed on to local food banks.
