FAIRBORN, Ohio (AP) - An official says a house exploded in western Ohio, leaving six people injured and one missing. Three of the injured are young children.

Fairborn Fire Marshal Carl Day says work was being done on the house's water line on Saturday when the gas line was hit andruptured, causing the explosion.

It is unclear whether anyone died. Crews are still looking for one person. Cybil Poole tells the Dayton Daily News that she saw a baby among the injured lying in the yard. She says the infant was burned, bloodied and covered in glass.

Day says the victims were sent to hospitals with burns. He says a 1-year-old is listed in critical condition. The extent of the others' injuries isn't known.

The house was destroyed in the explosion and nearby residences were heavily damaged.
