TOLEDO -- Tonight, the Toledo Zoo flips the switch on its annual "Lights Before Christmas" display and to thank our veterans the zoo is offering free admission to military men and women. KeyBank is sponsoring the event on Nov. 18.

"We're pleased that we've been part of the Toledo Zoo's great event since its inception," said James A. Hoffman, president of KeyBank's Northwest Ohio/Michigan District. "Each year we try to do something special as part of our Lights Before Christmas sponsorship, and this year we're saying thank-you to the men and women - and their families - who serve our country. We truly appreciate the sacrifices they make, and we hope those who are able can join us for a festive evening at the Zoo with their families on Friday, November 18."

Just bring your military ID with you to the gate. The lighting ceremony takes place between 6 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. next Friday but the zoo opens at 5 p.m.

The Lights Before Christmas is open from November 18 to December 31 (closed Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve night, and Christmas Day). Hours are 5 - 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday (the Zoo closes at 9 p.m.); Friday through Sunday hours are 5 - 9 p.m. (the Zoo closes at 10 p.m.). Admission is $11 for adults, $8 for children (2-11) and seniors (60+), and free for children under age 2. Toledo Zoo members receive one free visit to The Lights Before Christmas.
