TOLEDO -- One group is claiming free speech may have been violted during the arrests of Occupy Toledo protestors who tried to get into a city council meeting with a sign.
YouTube video shows a man and woman scuffling with officers as they were being arrested Tuesday at One Government Center.
They wanted to get into city council chambers but security would not let them in because they had a large, hand written sign stating the First Amendment.
Now The American Civil Liberties Union of Ohio is looking into the matter.
ACLU of Ohio's legal director James Hardiman told The Toledo Blade city council doesn't seem to have a written rule banning signs and doesn't always bar people who have them.
Do you think the protestors' right to free speech was violated? Do you think Toledo City Council should ban signs during meetings? Post your comments below.
