MONROE -- Monroe police say a bicyclist has died after being struck by a pickup truck.

Police said in a statement that 52-year-old Michael Francis Navarre Sr. of Monroe was riding his bike on North Telegraph Road when he was struck Thursday night by a Ford Ranger driven by a 30-year-old Monroe man. Police say Navarre was taken to Saint V's where he died early Friday.

The driver of the pickup wasn't injured.
