TOLEDO -- Police report that a man was shot trying to prevent a car robbery in South Toledo early Monday. According to reports, the victim was leaving for work from Byrneport Apartments when he spotted two men breaking into a car. When he tried to step in, one of the suspects shot him in the leg.
The man made his way back to the apartment complex while the suspects escaped and called 911. Police said his injuries are non-life threatening.
No arrests have been made and descriptions of the suspects have not been released as of 4:30 a.m. Police urge anyone with information to call CrimeStopper at 419-255-1111.
