TOLEDO - During a press conference on Tuesday, regarding plans to use federally funded "School Improvement Grants", Superintendent Dr. Jerome Pecko gave a status report on efforts to mix local elementary and middle schools into K-8 education institutions.

Pecko said TPS has been working throughout the summer to retrofit the buildings for the change.

He added that there have been adjustments to staffing and efforts to revise bus schedules to accommodate the new school structure.

The Superintendent also announced the school board was preparing to ratify an agreement with AFSCME on Wednesday.

If passed, the move would conclude contract negotiations for TPS with all the necessary bargaining groups.
