MONROE COUNTY, MI - A Monroe County judge is expected to weigh in on legal motions filed by a local prosecutor against two non-profit animal welfare organizations.
According to Trina Stillwagon, the President and General Manager of the Monroe SPCA, the local chapter of the SPCA and the Buster Foundation are both facing legal action for posting photographs and video recordings of several dogs on their websites.
The images were obtained during a dog fighting raid in Raisinville Township earlier this year.
Stillwagon claims the material is public information and says she is not in violation of any laws for putting the material on the Monroe SPCA's website.
Stillwagon also claims that she and the Buster Foundation's President are at risk of being found in contempt for keeping that information online.
The Monroe County Prosecutors Office could not be reached for comment on Wednesday night as their offices close at 4 p.m.
