DETROIT -- Detroit's Big Three automakers welcomed the falling gas prices because they spurred a sale surge in June.  The lower price pump brought buyers into showrooms looking for both trucks and small cars.

Chrysler was the big winner in June, seeing a sales increase of 30% over last year.    General Motors and Ford both saw sales increase about 10% last month.

But Honda and Toyota each saw sales drop more than 21% because of a shortage of small, fuel efficient automobiles.
