TOLEDO, OH -- The man Oregon police say took four shots at one of their officers has been indicted by a Lucas County grand jury Wednesday

Jeff Belew, 23, of Oregon was indicted on two counts of felonious assault and two counts of attempted aggravated murder. Each of the four charges carries a handgun specification. His bond was set at $1 million. He is incarcerated in the Lucas County Jail. He will be arraigned on April 27.

Also indicted was Belew's father, John Belew, 53, of Toledo. Police say the elder Belew attacked an officer at the scene. He was released without bond. John Belew will be arraigned on May 2.

Oregon police allege that on April 10, they responded to a call of two men fighting in the Picadilly East apartment's parking lot on Pickle Road. Upon arrival, a man fired four shots at the responding officer with a handgun. Another Oregon officer returned fire, hitting Belew in the chest. Belew was hospitalized until April 18, when he was released to the custody of Oregon police.
