DETROIT -- Some big news from "The Big Three". General Motors has posted its first annual profit since 2004.

GM  announced it earned $510 million in the fourth quarter of 2010.  That pushed its annual earnings to $4.7 billion, its best annual total since 1999.

GM's quarterly profit was less than the previous two quarters, but GM says expenses were higher as it introduced two new vehicles.

Experts say these figures are good signs as GM rebounds from bankruptcy.
