ADRIAN, MICHIGAN -- Days after freezing rain blanketed the area, thousands across northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan are still without power.
Some are staying with relatives or checking into hotels. Still others stood in line and even added themselves to waiting lists in hopes of getting a generator. The manager of Lowe's on Central Avenue in Toledo say they've hardly been able to keep generators on the shelves. In Lenawee County, Consumers Energy says around 9,200 people are still without power. The number is down to 3,000 in Monroe County. Toledo Edison reports that only around 500 customers are without electricity this morning in the Toledo metro area. They should get their power back on today.
The city of Toledo is helping with debris clean-up after the storm. Here are some guidelines: It can only be tree limbs and branches, no construction or demolition debris. It must be moved to the curb. City crews will get to it when they can. This is a one time free service. If you have any questions call 419-245-3357.
