TOLEDO, OHIO -- Thousands of electric customers in northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan are still without power Tuesday morning in the wake of a storm that dumped heavy rain, ice, and snow.
Dozens of school districts across the area have also cancelled or delayed the start of classes one day after the President's Day holiday.
FirstEnergy Corp. says that more than 27,000 customers remain with no power across northern Ohio. About 15,000 of those outages are in the Toledo-area. 18,000 total customers have no power in Lucas Co. The power company has said they hope to have all service restored by Thursday.
Consumer Energy in Michigan is reporting a total of 160,000 customers were affected by the storm. 17, 400 customers are without power in Lenawee Co., while 11,000 are still waiting for power in Monroe Co.
Hardest-hit areas like Adrian and Monroe might not have service restored until Friday.
