No one was home when the fire started.
WASHINGTON TWP., OH -- The inconvenience of the winter weather turned to something much worse in Washington Township Monday. Downed power lines created dangerous situations and, in one case, a family lost their home.
In the worst-case-scenario, a telephone pole snapped, blowing the transformer and sending a power surge into three houses on Shorebridge Drive.
One home suffered extensive damage. No one was home.
This is a brutal side of mother nature and those in the area are about sick of it.
"I don't like it. I don't like it. I'll just be happy when the sun comes out and it's spring," said one neighbor.
