DAYTON (AP) -- The Northwest Ohio man known as "Joe the Plumber" says an ex-state official who was accused of snooping into his background should not lead a county agency.

Samuel J. Wurzelbacher tells theDayton Daily News the "powers that be" in southwest Ohio's Montgomery County should be asked why they think Helen Jones-Kelley is trustworthy.

She resigned in 2008 as director of the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services after an investigation found she improperly used state computers to find personal information on Wurzelbacher. He became famous after questioning Barack Obama during the presidential campaign.

Jones-Kelley has been hired to run the Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health Services Board of Montgomery County, starting July 1. She tells the newspaper in an e-mail she looks forward to her new role.
