TOLEDO -- Despite the still sagging economy, many of you dug deep into your pockets over the holiday season to help the Salvation Army exceed its Red Kettle Campaign goal.

The Salvation Army wanted to collect $520,000.  Well, they did that and some. You donated a total of $535,428.

The money will be used to provide services to thousands of needy residents in our area.

This year's campaign was chaired by the President of Fifth Third Bank and helped by several companies and groups including The Anderson which matched $10,000 in donations over a weekend in December.
