TOLEDO -- The Bridge Ministry was getting ready for its annual Christmas dinner, to be held Wednesday, but when volunteers arrived at the Monroe St. facility Tuesday morning they were shocked to discover that they had been burglarized.

Upon further inspection, volunteer Connie Lutton realized that $900 in food had been stolen.  "I have no words to describe it. It is an absolutely devastating blow to the Bridge and to the people who come here," said Lutton. "It is an unthinkable crime to steal from the poor."

The thieves apparently forced their way into a first floor window during the overnight hours.  "It had to be more than one person with the amount of food that was taken," Mrs. Lutton said.

Anyone with information on this incident should call Crimestopper at 419-255-1111.
