TOLEDO, OHIO -- A Toledo driver whose friends were killed in a horrific crash in October has been indicted on homicide charges.

Noel Papenfuse, 21, has been charged with three counts of aggravated vehicular homicide for recklessly causing a death.  The charges stem from an Oct. 21 crash that killed his friends, Bryan Richardson, 20; Bradley Richardson, 21; and Noah McFadden, 23.  All were passengers in Papenfuse's vehicle.

Police say the crash occurred when a pickup truck driven by Paul Grant Never, 68, of Ottawa Lake, Mich., was pulling out of a parking lot when it hit Papenfuse's car.  The Toledo man is said to have been speeding at the time of the crash.

Never, 68, of Ottawa Lake, Mich., has been charged with six counts of aggravated vehicular homicide.  Three of the counts are for driving under the influence of alcohol, causing a death.  Three remaining counts are for reckless driving causing a death.

Never was seriously injured in the crash.

Papenfuse faces up to 15 years in prison if convicted.  Never faces up to 24 years behind bars.
