TOLEDO, OH -- Six students at Maumee Valley Country Day have spent their November getting up close and personal with patient care and scientific research.

The students have been following University of Toledo Medical Center doctors and scientists.

Some have seen how doctors interact with their patients while other students have seen first hand what goes into trying to discover cures for diabetes and cancer.

"It almost feels like a duty to me to be in cancer research having lost family members and family friends to cancer and it just feels good to make a contribution to society and just taking advantage of the opportunity means something to me," said Paige Willey, Maumee Valley Country Day Junior.

Willey and the other students will share their experiences at the "Winterim Fair" next week.
