A Garfield comic strip published in newspapers across the country Thursday is causing quite the Veteran's Day controversy.

The comic strip is being questioned for its timing on a day when veterans are being honored for their sacrifice. Artist Jim Davis weighed in on the controversy, releasing a statement on the Garfield website stating the strip was written a year in advance and that he was not aware it would be published on Veteran's Day.
