Explosion injures workers at Faurecia Interior Systems

NORTHWOOD, OH -- An early morning explosion at a Northwood automotive supplier sent nine workers to the hospital.

At approximately 7:15 this morning, a piece of machinery exploded at Faurecia Interior Systems' Northwood plant at 6307 Fairfield Dr., in Northwood. Firefighters responded and transported nine injured workers to Mercy St. Vincent's Medical Center. A police dispatcher for Northwood did not know the extent or severity of the injuries.

Faurecia makes interior components such as dash boards, door interiors and center consoles for Chrysler.
