LAKE TOWNSHIP -- Two months after Kohl’s opened the polls for the Kohl’s Cares Contest, 11 million votes had been cast. The contest would award twenty schools from all across the country $500,000 dollars.
Votes for Lake High remained strong throughout the competition. The competition closed at last night at 11:59 p.m. Lake High School brought in 163,395 votes, making it the number one school people voted for.
Dave Kidd is a soccer coach at Lake Local Schools. He said the money and continued support have been a great help to them all. He’s proud of the way students are handling the post-tornado changes. “Life is a series of adjustments but to have something this devastating, still keep all of their grades up, still stay active? It’s a testament to our community, staff and parents,” Coach Kidd.
