TOLEDO, OHIO -- The University of Toledo will dedicate a brand new $25 million building on its Health Science Campus Friday.

The newly-renovated Collier Building will be home to the school's College of Pharmacy when the department makes its move from the university's Bancroft Campus. Students will be able to work alongside healthcare professionals already at the South Toledo campus.  "The growth of the College of Pharmacy contributes to the outstanding patient care and academic environment on the Health Science Campus," said Chancellor Jeffrey P. Gold. "The opportunities for interprofessional education will benefit students in each discipline and prepare them for the types of collaboration they will see in their professional settings. Pharmacy students will certainly contribute to and benefit from this rich environment."

The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified building features laboratories, lecture halls, office and a 500-seat auditorium. "It has been amazing to witness the building and expansion project as it progressed from an idea and a sketch to a real, brick-and-mortar home for our academic and residency programs, students, faculty and staff," said Dr. Johnnie Early, dean of UT College of Pharmacy.

University and community leaders, including UT President Lloyd Jacobs and U.S. Representative Marcy Kaptur, will be on hand for the ribbon-cutting and dedication ceremonies beginning at 11:30 a.m.
