TOLEDO, OHIO -- A Toledo teenager accused of shooting at a Toledo police officer who was inside his cruiser will stand trial as an adult.

Chadd Rabara, 17, has been charged with attempted aggravated murder in the July 19 shooting of Officer George Shaughnessy's Toledo Police cruiser in South Toledo.  The officer suffered only minor injuries in the shooting, which pumped bullets and broken glass inside the vehicle.

Four other people have been charged in the incident.  Police say Martin Cheno, 20, Jorge Rojas, 19, and Raul Moya, 16, were inside a truck with Rabara when the shooting occurred.  Authorities have not determined who the actual fired shots from inside the truck.

Moya has been charged in juvenile court.  Cheno and Rojas are each charged with felonious assault and attempted aggravated murder.

A fifth suspect, Bridget Oyerbides, has been charged with tampering with evidence in connection with the case. Police say she is the girlfriend of one of the other suspects, and was inside the vehicle at the time of the incident.

Rabara will be transferred to the Lucas County Jail.
