(Toledo)--The Maumee Valley Habitat for Humanity ReStore, off Fearing in south Toledo, has been open for more than six years. During this time, quite a number of customers has come through the doors looking for a deal. And with every purchase, there's a way to be an eco-savvy consumer as well. Through recycling and reusing, items are spared from the landfill. Of course a 50% saving on your bill never hurts either.

If you're looking for linens, bedding, and household items, you'll have to shop some place else. But just about everything else is for sale. And while some of the proceeds from the sales, totaling tens of thousand of dollars a month, go toward Habitat homes, a huge reason for the operation, again, is saving the earth from junk in the landfill.

This store is one of 25 in Ohio. There are 300 nationwide. Those who run the ten thousand square foot location say they have a need as well for a newer, larger building. That means more merchandise and more profit as well.

Donations are always welcome. Plus they're tax deductible. To learn more about the Habitat for Humanity ReStore, where its located, and hours of operation just call 419-382-1964.
