TOLEDO, OHIO -- Three suspects are in custody after police say they shot at a Toledo Police officer as he was attempting to stop their vehicle.

Toledo Police say Officer George Shaughnessy and his vehicle were shot early Monday morning after responding to a call in South Toledo.

Officer Shaughnessy was responding to a report of shots fired near the site of the former Southwyck Mall around 3:00 a.m.  After finding no incident, he attempted to stop a vehicle near Brownstone and Crethaven when at least eleven shots were fired at the officer while he was in his police cruiser.  The suspect vehicle then fled the scene.

The officer suffered a minor wound in the back of his head, either from a bullet or broken glass, according to Toledo Police Chief Mike Navarre. Shaughnessy received only non-life threatening injuries and was treated at an area hospital.

Police say the shots were fired from inside a blue Ford Ranger pickup truck.  Multiple suspects from inside the truck fled the scene after the truck crashed into a nearby fence.  Raul Moya, 16, Martin Cheno, 20, and Jorge Rojas, 19, have been arrested and charged with attempted aggravated murder and felonious assault.

A warrant has been issued for the arrest of a fourth suspect, Chadd Rabara, 17, on the same charges.  Police say they believe he was the shooter in the incident. If you know of Rabara's whereabouts please call Toledo Police Crime Stopper at 419-255-1111.

Cheno and Rojas are currently being held at the Lucas County Jail on $1 million bond each.   They are scheduled to appear in court next on July 27.

Moya has been booked into the Juvenile Justice Center.
