TOLEDO, OHIO -- The Toledo man charged with fatally shooting his girlfriend outside her South Toledo home early Tuesday morning is being held on $1 million bond.

Darris M. Adams, 23, was arraigned in Toledo Municipal Court Wednesday morning.  He was charged with kidnapping and felonious assault after authorities say he repeatedly shot his girlfriend, Cheryl Bugbee, 21, at 519 Carter Blvd. around 6:15 a.m. Tuesday.

Bugbee was found by police with multiple gunshot wounds.   She was transported to the University of Toledo Medical Center where she was in critical condition until passing away aroud 1:00 p.m. Wednesday.

On Wednesday morning, just hours before Bugbee's death, a judge ordered Adams held on $500,000 bond for each charge of kidnapping and felonious assault.  Those charges are being adjusted to kidnapping and murder, according to authorities.  Adams is being held, on $1 million bond, at the Lucas County Jail.
