TOLEDO -- A store clerk shot and killed a man who tried to rob Bengal’s Food Mart in South Toledo Sunday morning.
The shooting occurred shortly after 10:00 a.m. at the store, 2625 Airport Hwy. Sergeant Tim Noble with the Toledo Police said a man, disguising himself with a wig, walked into the store.
The man announced the robbery and produced a handgun. There were three customers in the store when the incident occurred. The clerk fatally shot the man. The clerk and customers were not hurt.
Police have not yet identified the man.
This is the second store shooting in three days. On Friday, Steve James, attempted to rob Allied Music on South Byrne Rd. near Heatherdowns. The store owner, Eric Bilger shot the man. Bilger and his clerk were not hurt.
