TOLEDO (AP) -- Westfield Franklin Park will have a beefed-up security and police presence in the coming weekend in hopes there's no repeat of a fight involving scores of teens.
Toledo Police arrested more than a dozen young people no older than 16 following the fracas at the mall last Saturday night. Deputy Police Chief Mike Murphy says it's not clear what started the fight, which involved about 150 teenagers.
The mall told police officials in a meeting on Tuesday that it will now observe a zero-tolerance policy for disruptive teens. It will no longer let them off with a warning but will immediately throw them out and possibly ban them. The shopping center also is considering a 7 p.m curfew for younger shoppers.
