TOLEDO -- A store clerk died early Friday morning after being shot Thursday night at a West Toledo carryout, police say.

Bassam "Sam" Kanough, 46, was shot in the stomach while working at the Lewis Carryout at 4252 Lewis Avenue.  He was transported to Mercy St. Vincent's Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead.

The incident occurred just after 9:00 p.m. Thursday.

Police say they currently have no suspects.

The incident remains under investigation.

Friends of Mr. Kanough have scheduled a candlelight vigil for Friday evening. It will take place at 8:00 p.m. at the Lewis Carryout.
