AURORA, W.VA. (AP) -- A Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman says two people have been injured after a small airplane went down in a hayfield in northern West Virginia.  According to the FAA's Web site, the single-engine plane was registered out of Monroe, Mich.

FAA spokeswoman Holly Baker says the Piper 22 aircraft with two people aboard went down about 2:50 p.m. Sunday near U.S. Route 50 in eastern Preston County, near the Maryland border.

Baker says further details, including the plane's origin and destination, aren't known yet.

The plane's occupants were taken to Garrett County Memorial Hospital in Oakland, Md. Nursing supervisor Gina Artice said their injuries weren't believed to be serious.
