Crystal Dixon plans to sue University of Toledo for civil rights violations

TOLEDO, OH -- Crystal Dixon, the former Vice President for Human Resources at the University of Toledo was recently fired after writing a controversial editorial about homosexuality in the Toledo Free Press.

As a result of the editorial, UT's President, Dr. Lloyd Jacobs believed Dixon could not continue to effectively do her job.  So, he fired her.  Now, Dixon says she'll sue the university for a violation of her first amendment right, religious discrimination and racial discrimination.

A spokesperson for the university had no comment on the potential law suit.  He did say though that, "the university welcomes dissent and input from others on all issues. Free speech and debate make a university stronger, but people who have certain jobs in a public in institution have restrictions on what they're allowed to express."
